Dear Friend, The U.S. Senate just did something monumental. It finally passed a desperately needed relief package to stop the virus, save lives and rescue American businesses and workers. Despite their very real differences, Democratic and Republican senators came together when it mattered and No Labels would like you to take a moment to thank your home state senators with the following message: "Thank you Senator for passing the #CARESAct to stop the virus, save lives and rescue American businesses and workers. This is what real leadership looks like. We will need more of it in the difficult days ahead. #NoLabels" This bill – which is now moving over to the House for a vote – will get critical resources to American families and first responders during this difficult time. It includes the following measures: - Most individuals will receive a $1,200 check, plus $500 for each dependent child. The sums are less for people who made $75,000 or more in 2019, and reach zero for those earning $99,000 and above.
- Those qualifying for unemployment benefits will receive an extra $600 a week for up to four months. Food stamps (or SNAP) and aid to farmers also receive boosts.
- The package includes $367 billion for small business loans; $500 billion for loans to industries, cities and states; and $130 billion for hospitals.
