John,

The Dept. of Labor just took steps to minimize the impact of past marijuana use on eligibility for the federal Job Corps program.

Now it is time for Congress to do the same for other people applying for federal employment and security clearances.

Last September, the House Oversight Committee overwhelmingly approved H.R. 5040, the Cannabis Users’ Restoration of Eligibility (CURE) Act. Since then, however, there has been little action on this important legislation.

You can help change that.

Passage of the CURE Act would greatly diminish the discrimination that cannabis consumers have long faced when trying to obtain federal jobs and security clearances. It would also improve both the operation of federal agencies and national security by significantly expanding the talent pool that is eligible for these roles.

Please contact your Representatives today and urge them to support the CURE Act.
