Heroes in the Heartland

The Indiana State Fair is now in full swing, and this year’s fair theme is particularly special for me. It’s “Heroes in the Heartland,” and it’s putting our state’s heroes – first responders, veterans, active-duty military, farmers, educators and so many others – at center stage.

I was at the fair last weekend with my son, and I had a great time not only enjoying the fair with him, but teaching him about the many Hoosiers who make sacrifices every day to keep us safe and to make this such a great place to call home. If you go out to the fair this year, I hope you take advantage of the programming and events they have planned spotlighting our Hoosier heroes.

I hope you also take a minute to stop by the Indiana Republican Party booth at the state fair. We’ve got a booth between the Covered Bridge and the Free Stage (northwest corner of the fairgrounds), and so far we’ve had Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch, Senator Todd Young, Senator Mike Braun and Congressman Greg Pence swing by. You never know who you’ll meet at our booth!

Thank you to our Hoosier heroes – and if you get a chance, make sure you enjoy the Indiana State Fair!

Governor Holcomb's Week That Was

Helping Our Veterans & Rural Hoosiers

Governor Eric Holcomb had a busy week as he took two big steps to support Hoosier veterans (current and future), and Hoosiers living in rural areas throughout our state.

On Monday, he ceremonially signed a bill that means Indiana veterans will soon no longer pay state taxes on retirement income. The new law honors those who have served our country, while working to help attract more of these patriotic, highly-skilled vets to call Indiana home. What a great way to show our support for Hoosier veterans!

Along with supporting veterans, Governor Holcomb also showed his support for Hoosiers living in rural Indiana this week. He announced yesterday that he's providing more than $22 million in funding for broadband internet expansion. This funding will be capable of providing more than 4,800 homes and commercial locations in 12 different counties with critical internet access to power small businesses, education, agriculture, telemedicine, and so much more!

Thank you for your hard work and support this week, Governor Holcomb!

Join the Indiana GOP at the State Fair!

Planning on attending the Indiana State Fair this year? Take a moment to say hello to your Indiana Republican Party while at the fair! You might meet an Indiana elected official, and you can grab a selfie with cardboard cutouts of both President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence!

Already this week, we’ve had visits from Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch, Senator Todd Young, Senator Mike Braun and Congressman Greg Pence!

And while at booth, take a moment to sign a petition to get President Donald Trump and Governor Eric Holcomb on the ballot next year. We need to collect more than 4,500 signatures for each of them across the state – another great reason to stop by and to make sure your voice is heard.
