My name is Matt Sugrue and I’m the Team Leader for Save the Children’s Gaza Response team. I’m writing to share some striking updates about the scale of devastation I’ve seen in recent weeks.

The crisis in Gaza is unprecedented. Over 28,000 people have been killed – including more than 12,000 children. Over 500,000 people are facing starvation. Kids don’t have the amount of water they need to survive. There are more than 350,000 cases of infectious diseases. Enough is enough.

I recently visited a maternity ward in Rafah, Gaza. Listen to my first-person account of what I saw here.

We must deliver emergency aid, unimpeded. We must allow children and their families to seek safety. We must scale up humanitarian assistance to meet the demands of this crisis. We must provide lifesaving aid to children.
