Friends, 

We promised we’d be criss-crossing the 8th district, meeting with folks in every community, and listening to their hopes – and their fears – about what’s at stake in this election. We’ve been keeping that promise – here are some of my recent favorite moments on the trail: 

• I listened to the Fond Du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa State of the Band address –  they accomplished so much in 2023! I’m eager to work with them to make sure their treaty rights, their sovereignty, and their way of life are protected.
  
  
• I visited with students at Bemidji State University where we discussed the future of higher education in our state. 
  
  
• I learned about the great work occurring at Beltrami & Cass Counties Community Action Program (BI-CAP) on energy assistance, Head Start, supportive housing, weatherization assistance, and YouthBuild.
  
  
• I spent a weekend meeting with folks in Scandia, Center City & Chisago City where I  heard concerns about energy regulations and solar panels, Tier 2 Teacher Pensions, healthcare costs, and protecting human rights and our democracy.

We are running our campaign the old-fashioned way, with people talking to people, and building a movement of supporters.

I can’t wait to keep traveling to every corner of the district to continue these important conversations – because our campaign grows stronger the more voices like yours are heard. But I need your help to keep us going!
