** Climate Justice
------------------------------------------------------------

In the United States, we’re currently experiencing winter. But our Climate Justice newsletter this week considers the perennial effects of our warming planet on the most vulnerable. First, many deaths from heat, storms, and cold may seem to be caused by weather, but are actually caused by poverty. Next, seniors find relief from heat and from isolation by utilizing the internet resources of public libraries, but many lack digital literacy training and consistent access. Then, agricultural workers face increased risk both from rising temperatures and from pesticides. Finally, in a work of fiction from Nonprofit Quarterly Magazine’s fall issue “How Do We Create Home in the Future? Reshaping the Way We Live in the Midst of Climate Crisis,” displaced children tell their stories in a world on fire.
