Ahead of the Great British Spring Clean and the charity’s platinum celebrations, the UK’s Vintage Litter Museum in Woodbridge, Suffolk, is raising awareness of just how long litter can last.
The earliest plastic piece in the museum is a small plastic bottle from the Revlon Aquamarine range from around 1954. That's the very year Keep Britain Tidy was founded!
The bottle,
which was found on Bawdsey beach, had lingered in the environment long enough to witness the Moon landing, the Live Aid concert, the introduction of the internet, and the reign of a new monarch amongst other major world events!
The museum was set up by Keep Britain Tidy #LitterHeroes Ambassador Jason Alexander.
