John, abortion rights are personal to me.
I underwent fertility treatments for over a year before becoming pregnant with my beautiful daughter, Aaliyah.
During that time, I suffered an ectopic pregnancy and had to make the difficult decision to have an abortion to save my life. I am only here today because of my ability to CHOOSE what I needed to do with my body.
So trust me when I say, from deep personal experience: The right to choose should not belong to government officials, but to us. And right now, North Carolina Republicans are attacking a woman’s right to choose.
I’ve been a champion for reproductive rights my entire adult life, so I know it’s going to take all of us – and a lot of resources – to defeat these anti-choice extremists.
