ICYMI, we were at the Wilson Building earlier this week on Tuesday, as part of ?re-introducing our movement to the Mayor's Office & DC Council. We shared with them that we are that movement that is building the political will to end poverty. We are that movement to promote the general welfare, as promised by our Constitution.
Rev. Dr. Christopher Zacharias of John Wesley AMEZ spoke on the steps of the Wilson Building as we called to action anyone that believes in the political power of 140 million poor & low-income people to mobilize, organize, and raise their voices. This was part of simultaneous press conferences in 30 states nationwide, where organizers explained that the reason poor and low-wage voters participate in elections at lower rates is not because they have no interest in politics, but because politics is not interested in them.
Join us on March 2 to further the campaign and highlight the policies being promulgated in state houses across the country that are hurting the poor, or distracting from addressing the real issues facing poor and low-wage people. RSVP here
We hope to see you Wednesday as we hear from Dr. Rev. Barber about mobilizing, organizing, registering, and educating poor and low-wage infrequent voters & about taking back the mic, lifting our voices, and registering our votes as demands!
