Lawmakers are using the budget to threaten our communities. Take action.
ACLU Supporter –
Remember when Congress tried (and failed) to agree on how to fund the government last fall? Their deadline to do so was extended to this March. With the new deadline just two weeks away, we, the people, need to let our representatives know exactly what we expect this time. <[link removed]>
Some extreme lawmakers are hellbent on pushing their fringe agendas through the budget. They would rather add provisions that attack LGBTQ people, immigrants, communities of color, and people seeking abortion care than pass a clean bill to fund the government and get to work.
ACLU Supporter: We cannot and will not let our representatives trade away our freedoms as a bargaining chip for government funding. It's time to take action. <[link removed]>
But here's the deal: With both the Senate and the House going in and out of recess over the next few weeks – today may be the last chance to reach your representative with enough time to get the message across.
So please don't wait. Take one quick minute today to make things clear: Tell Congress to oppose any funding bills that threaten our civil liberties and ensure that our rights are protected. <[link removed]>
Take Action <[link removed]>
