Pennsylvania’s high court sides with township over its ban of a backyard gun range

  • A township ordinance that limits firing guns to indoor and outdoor shooting ranges and zoning that significantly restricts where the ranges can be located do not violate the Second Amendment, Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court ruled Wednesday.


US appeals court to decide if Pennsylvania mail-in ballots with wrong date still count

  • A federal appeals court must decide if Pennsylvania voters need to put accurate handwritten dates on the outside envelopes of their mail-in ballots for the votes to count, a dispute with implications for this year’s presidential contest.


Pennsylvania Supreme Court rules that GOP subpoena for voter information cannot be enforced

  • The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled that Republicans' subpoena of voter information after the 2020 election was unenforceable, overturning a previous court ruling.

Young Philly voters will be key in the next election. Here’s how to mobilize them.

  • Only 26% of eligible 18-year-olds in the Philadelphia region have registered to vote. As the 2024 elections draw closer, we hear urgent calls to increase youth voter registration, as though that will suddenly create engaged, first-time voters. While this concern is well founded, there are few serious options for funding, programs, or policies that will make a long-term difference in youth voter participation.


51,000 18-Year-Old Residents In Philly Area/Allegheny Remain Unregistered In An Election Year

  • Anyone who cares about elections and youth political participation should take a careful look at registration rates for the youngest voters. Four million young people turn 18 every year in the US, but if they are not registered, they can’t turn out to vote.


Bucks County GOP Issues Statement Repudiating Right For Bucks Leader’s Post Calling For Lynching Of Former President Obama

  • A post authored by Right for Bucks leader Andy Meehan on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter drew public scorn and violated the media giant’s policies on hateful references.
