Friend,

Thanks to supporters like you, the Senate passed a COVID-19 relief package last night that includes $400 million for safe and inclusive 2020 elections. That's more than double the amount originally included.

Let's be clear -- it'll take at least $2 billion for states to provide voters with options and prepare for November. This $400 million is far from enough, and it is just the beginning. But it's a critical increase achieved after the civil rights community -- including you -- demanded that our voices and votes count.

Getting this provision approved was necessary for states to have flexibility and create voting options, including expanding voting by mail, early voting, and online registration; and increasing the safety of voting in person.

With your support, The Leadership Conference will continue to push for protections for our communities and our democracy in the next package. But don't forget, you helped us get this far.

Thank you for everything you are doing. It takes a sustained, collective effort to forge ahead in these times. But it makes a world of difference.

Thanks, friend.
