Last year, a North Carolina representative deceived the Democratic voters who elected her and switched parties — giving Republicans a one-vote supermajority in the state House of Representatives.
Since then, the far-right GOP has had the chance to advance their extremist agenda; but they’ve also proven that their party is far more concerned with fighting culture wars than with governing and that their political infighting will derail and delay even the most essential legislation.
John, Republicans are terrified about losing their supermajority — because they know that North Carolina is a 50-50 state. As long as Democrats stand together, we have the strength to defeat them.
North Carolinians need our legislature to get back to work. That’s why I’m leading the fight to break the GOP supermajority and elect Democratic leaders this November. Can you help me?
Since I’ve been governor, we’ve made progress on everything from expanding Medicaid to investing in clean energy to creating jobs across the state — but I know there’s still so much more to do.
We have to improve and secure reproductive health care access, protect voting rights, and increase funding for our public education system.
Democratic candidates across the state are ready to fight for these priorities and more after November’s election, but first, we have to help them win. Your grassroots support is the power behind our work, John. Please, donate anything you can now to help.
