Legislative Update
Hello Neighbors,
Ok, let just enjoy the great weather and be thankful for a reprieve from winter. ?The sun reminds me that winter high school sports are in the section playoff season and now is a great time to support your local school.? High school tournament time is coming and this is always an exciting time for our youth and local communities.
This week is National FFA Week so I want to recognize all of the hard-working Future Farmers of America who put so much effort into their education and preparing to provide for the future of our nation. Participants in this program become leaders in every industry . The friendly competition and educational opportunities prepare students across the nation for careers in business, science, and countless other industries. Happy FFA Week to all our dedicated students and advisors.
FFA Week 2024
On Thursday, I introduced a bill on the house floor to renovate and repair the hangars at the Morrison County Airport. As the 100th anniversary of Charles Lindbergh?s historic transatlantic flight approaches in 2027 the Lindbergh Airport is preparing to celebrate this aviation milestone. The $500,000 investment would help to fund improved infrastructure and hangers at Lindbergh Field. I look forward to enjoying this centennial celebration and the completed improvements at the airfield.?
I have also introduced a bill to continue funding the State Veterans Trail.? This project continues to have support and I am committed to seeing it completed.
I have also received notice that the DNR has approved the requested lands bill as requested by Aitkin County.?
This week we once again saw some progress to the school resource officer bill.? I am working with my colleagues to correct this bill and fully support law enforcement in our schools. Sadly, this progress came on the heels of the terrible deaths in Burnsville. There is already a push for knee-jerk legislation, but the fact remains.? Evil people do evil things.

We are already a week into Lent, and that means fish fry season is well underway. Holy Cross in Onamia also kicks off their Fish Fry season this week at the Holy Cross Parish Center. Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council hosts this all-you-can-eat fried and baked fish from 4:30 to 7:00. Their complete schedule can be seen on their website: Common | WOHVn-in-Faith [ [link removed] ]?
Kindship?s annual fish fry [ [link removed] ] is also coming up from 4:30 to 7:30 at the Little Falls VFW. Their fish fry is always a highlight of the year and a great opportunity to share a meal with your community. Maybe even make some new friends. Both are great options for your Friday dinner plans.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
Best regards,
Ron
