If you're anything like me, when you read these stories about Venezuelan gangs taking over the streets in NYC or beating up cops and being released without bail, you wonder how the heck they got here in the first place.

Did they really walk? How did they cross all those borders with criminal records? Who are they and how did they pay for this journey?

A young lady reached out to me on Twitter (X) and offered to share her perspective. She's a Venezuelan student who has been watching what goes on with dismay.
