Working people and small business owners are facing unprecedented economic uncertainty. On April 1st, many will be facing large rent or mortgage payments after having lost their jobs or their income.
As we move forward, these are the folks that we must center in the discussion of additional relief — not massive corporations.
These folks are not responsible for the COVID-19 crisis. Middle-class families that have worked for decades to get a mortgage, or working-class families living paycheck to paycheck shouldn’t be left out in the cold.
Additionally, small business owners, especially ones who are continuing to pay their workers during this crisis, need to know that the federal government has their back.
Thanks for your time. Stay safe.
