John,

Last night, the Senate voted to pass a $2 trillion stimulus package
responding to the coronavirus pandemic.

This deal is far better than the corporate bailout Republicans first
presented -- one which included a $500 billion slush fund for Trump and
his cronies to spend without any oversight.

Democratic Senate leaders deserve credit for improving oversight of the
bailout funds, unemployment benefits for workers, funding for health care
providers, and help for small businesses in the latest bill.

But let’s be clear: this bill doesn’t do anywhere near enough to address
the enormous crisis millions of Americans across the country are facing
right now.

Congress has to do more to get cash into the hands of working families who
have bills due in just five days, boost health care funding to fight the
virus, expand paid sick leave, and protect all workers on the frontlines
of this crisis.

Thank you for joining DFA members across the country in demanding support
for working families, health care workers, and everyone fighting this
virus on the frontlines.

These are uncertain times for all of us, but we’ll get through it
together.
