Tell your Representative to Support Health Aid
for Ukraine and the World

Dear Project HOPE community,

My name is Ivan Syrovatko, and I am based in Kiev as Project HOPE's Ukraine Strategy Director. This week marks two years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Like millions of my fellow Ukrainians, I have been displaced twice from my home in the Donbass Region. My neighbors typically live without electricity, with limited water, and little access to medicines or care. You need to know that Ukrainians still need our support, both as individuals and as a country.

The Ukrainian government is struggling to provide health and support services while the war continues. So much of their efforts depend on continued foreign assistance, especially from the United States.

Currently, the U.S. Congress is considering passage of the National Security Supplemental budget, which includes almost $10 billion in humanitarian funding for communities facing health crises, including Ukraine. That's why I wanted to follow up on our email from last week asking you to write to Congress in support of this funding. Please tell your Representative to approve this lifesaving humanitarian assistance now.

In my work at Project HOPE, we've helped more than 1.2 million people with support including ambulances, training for Ukrainian paramedics and health personnel, and over thirty mobile medical units to transport injured civilians to health facilities.

On a typical day, rocket attacks are still terrorizing communities throughout Ukraine. The infrastructure to deliver food and medicine has been greatly reduced. Pharmacies and stores in hard-hit cities are empty. Many hospitals and health facilities have been destroyed.

I see firsthand how much Ukrainian civilians need the health care and support that this supplemental funding can help provide. Please click here to write to your Representative and tell them to provide funding for vital humanitarian aid. This funding is crucial for rebuilding our communities and pushing back against conflict and aggression.

Thank you in advance for using your voice for Ukraine,
Ivan Syrovatko
Ukraine Strategy Director, Project HOPE
