Dear Project HOPE community,
My name is Ivan Syrovatko, and I am based in Kiev as Project HOPE's Ukraine Strategy Director. This week marks two years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Like millions of my fellow Ukrainians, I have been displaced twice from my home in the Donbass Region. My neighbors typically live without electricity, with limited water, and little access to medicines or care. You need to know that Ukrainians still need our support, both as individuals and as a country.
The Ukrainian government is struggling to provide health and support services while the war continues. So much of their efforts depend on continued foreign assistance, especially from the United States.
Currently, the U.S. Congress is considering passage of the National Security Supplemental budget, which includes almost $10 billion in humanitarian funding for communities facing health crises, including Ukraine. That's why I wanted to follow up on our email from last week asking you to write to Congress in support of this funding. Please tell your Representative to approve this lifesaving humanitarian assistance now.
