We need to talk about Nevada’s water crisis, team.
- We’re facing the worst drought in 12 centuries that is drying up our water resources and stretching our water supplies dangerously thin.
- That means communities across Nevada could lose their sources of clean drinking water.
- Severe drought hurts our families, businesses of all sizes, and decreases tourism and recreation — industries that are a major part of Nevada’s economy.
This is a crisis in every sense of the word – a public health crisis, an ecological crisis, and an economic crisis. And we’re running out of time to solve it.
Nevada could be one of the states hardest-hit by the worst impacts of climate change. Our water supplies are particularly vulnerable.
Last year, I secured more than $122 million in federal investments for local water projects, water research, infrastructure, and technologies to shore up our long-term water security. But confronting this crisis is a big job, and there’s plenty more to do. So, I’m asking you to chip in $5 to my campaign today so I can continue fighting for water security and climate action in Congress.
