Back then, I was a first-time candidate running against a rising MAGA star in a notorious swing district. To say pundits underestimated me would be the understatement of the year. They wished me luck but said I didn’t stand a chance.

In the run up to Election Day, I was being outspent 8 to 1, pummeled with attack ads, and lagging behind in poll after poll. But with the help of this grassroots team, we defied everyone’s expectations and managed to close the gap. We lost by just 1,600 votes.

Our race was the third closest House race in the country – and political pundits are already predicting this cycle could be just as close.

In fact, The Cook Political Report is calling our opponent among the most vulnerable Republicans up for re-election.

This team knows how to overcome the odds. Flipping this battleground district is going to take significant resources. That starts with meeting fundraising goals.
