Hi John, it's Emily Busch, the pro-safety Democrat running to represent Michigan's 10th District in Congress.

Before I ask you to support my people-powered campaign with a donation today, I'd like to tell you some of my story.

I grew up in a tight-knit Midwestern family. My mom, a nurse, and my dad, a manufacturing representative, taught me the importance of hard work and community.

After earning my Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University, and a Master's from Michigan State University, I settled down in Oakland County because I thought it'd be a great place to start a family. 20 years later now, and I was right!

Everything was great – until I experienced a parent's worst nightmare. On November 30, 2021, a student at my son's school opened fire. While my son survived, four of his peers had been shot and killed.

Our community was devastated. As a mom, I was scared, but more than anything, I was angry.

I never thought our community could be hit with such a tragedy. Even worse, the very people we've trusted to tackle this issue in the face of our loss have still done nothing to address the gun violence epidemic happening across the country.

And I, for one, am tired of relying on their "thoughts and prayers" to keep us safe.

I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and fight for common-sense gun safety measures – a ban on military-style weapons, increased background checks, and more!

But my campaign needs your help to get my name and message to folks across the district. To support my pro-safety vision for the future, will you chip in $15, $35 or $50 today?

Thank you,
Emily Busch

Emily Busch

Emily first learned the importance of community and helping others from her mom, a nurse, and dad, a manufacturing representative, while growing up in a tight-knit, middle-class Midwestern family.

The proud product of public schools, Emily worked hard in and out of the classroom, balancing her studies and interest in performing arts with an after-school job as a cashier at Ace Hardware. She went on to earn her B.A. in Biology from Indiana University and Masters from Michigan State University.

Now, Emily is running for Congress in Michigan’s 10th District to keep our kids safe, protect our rights, and lower costs for Michigan families.

Emily chose to move to Oakland County two decades ago because it was the place she wanted to raise her family – a place with friendly neighbors, good schools, and safe neighborhoods.

She and her husband, a retired firefighter and Marine, enjoy camping, fishing, and visiting national parks in their free time.
