President Biden was in Los Angeles this week ([link removed]) to announce that the Biden-Harris Administration will automatically discharge $1.2 billion in loans for nearly 153,000 borrowers who are eligible. ([link removed])

This action comes as 7.5 million borrowers are now enrolled in President Biden’sSaving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan ([link removed]) , 4.3 million of whom have a $0 monthly payment.

Before the exciting announcement, I took the President to one of my favorite diners ([link removed]) in Los Angeles – CJ’s Cafe – a family-owned business that I used to go to all the time when I lived in Baldwin Hills. Thank you for having us!

Housing Angelenos with Urgency Gains National Attention

Los Angeles has been leading efforts to house more Angelenos than ever before. We are creating a national momentum and setting the standard that shows immediate shelter SAVES LIVES and how cities are breaking barriers to provide access to permanent housing.

Earlier this month, Jake Tapper joined me on the frontlines at an Inside Safe operation near Downtown Los Angeles.
Staying Safe and Prepared in Recent Weather Conditions

Los Angeles prepared for heavy rains that hit our region for most of February.

Leading up to this week’s rain, the City worked to repair more than 4,000 potholes, reinforce hills that are at risk of mudslides and prevent power outages by making repairs to underground equipment and vaults that flooded during the previous storm.

Thank you for heeding our call to stay safe and informed during changing weather conditions.

There is always an opportunity to prepare for an emergency – learn how to make an emergency kit and create a plan in case of any local emergency.
PREPARE FOR ANY DISASTER ([link removed])
Enjoy the sunny weekend ahead, Los Angeles!
