As we celebrate Black History Month, I am honored to join hands with the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) to reflect on the incredible contributions of Black Americans throughout history and in our communities today.

As the first Black woman to represent Connecticut in Congress, I am acutely aware of the responsibility we bear to honor the sacrifices of those who came before us while paving the way for future generations.

It is a privilege to stand alongside my colleagues in the Congressional Black Caucus, a beacon of advocacy and empowerment, in our shared commitment to advancing the interests of Black Americans and promoting equity and justice for everyone, regardless of race.
