Please join Prosperity Now as we partner with CASH Campaign of Maryland on March 7 from 6-8 p.m. for an evening event, A Roadmap to Economic Security in Maryland, [[link removed]] at the Maryland Inn in Annapolis. We need YOU to help us lift up policies that support asset development and financial security for low-income Maryland families.
According the Prosperity Now Scorecard [[link removed]], there is a significant disparity in net worth between white households and households of color in the state of Maryland, and that gap has not changed significantly over the past 5 years. With a rising cost of living and stagnating wages across the country, the future financial wellbeing of low-income families relies on policy intervention.

This event is an opportunity for decision makers and advocates to learn about policies focused on increasing affordable housing and protecting renters, childcare, the social safety net, and other priorities that will increase financial security for Marylanders.
The event will also feature a panel discussion on the disparities in housing and access to basic necessities in Maryland and how proposed policies would directly address these inequalities. The panel will be moderated by Claudia Wilson Randall of the Community Development Network and will feature Delegate Jheanelle Wilkins (District 20), Delegate Stephanie Smith (District 45), Matt Hill of the Public Justice Center and Maryland resident Tazhane Jordan. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served.
