Clergywomen Virtual Renewal Mini-Retreat

In caring for the clergywomen across our conference, the Missouri United Methodist Foundation is hosting a virtual mini-retreat on Thursday, March 7 from 1- 2:30pm. Our retreat guide, Rev. Rachel Billups, will focus on the power of connection through cultivating life-giving relationships.  This is an opportunity for clergywomen to take time out of their day for spiritual renewal, connection with other clergy, some new ideas, and inspiration that can feed both them and their ministry in the midst of the Lenten Season. Rev. Billups previously served as Senior Pastor at Ginghamsburg Church multi-campus ministry in Tipp City, Ohio. Please invite other clergywomen in Missouri and outside of Missouri to attend this free event. To register: https://mumf.org/event/clergywomens-mini-retreat-2/ .

South Central Jurisdiction Committee on Episcopacy Recommendations

From the SCJ Committee on Episcopacy: "We intend to recommend to the SCJ Conference that there be no election of bishops in 2024. This recommendation is informed by the high number of disaffiliations in our Jurisdiction, the changing landscape of the church, and the projected financial pressures on the episcopal fund.” The recommendation leaves the Missouri Episcopal Area unchanged. Read the full story on the recommendation at https://www.scjumc.org/2024/02/12/letter-to-south-central-jurisdiction-delegates/.

Jump Start Workshop on Community Partnerships

Ready to get outside the church walls and into the community? Join us for the final Jump Start workshop of the spring on March 19. Together we’ll discuss building community partnerships and new ideas for connecting with your community. You’ll leave with practical advice and solutions that can be immediately implemented in your context. Register by March 12 at www.moumethodist.org/eventdetail/jumpstart-community-partnerships-workshop-17516241.

Grief Survey Related to United Methodism

Rev. Lynette Moran, a deacon and PhD candidate who has worked with and studied individual/collective grief, is currently researching grief related to the United Methodist Church. She seeks to have wide response from surveys to gain deeper understanding of individual and collective grief and an experiential account of Methodists at this time in church history. Her survey is for all United Methodist members, participants, and those who have transitioned away from the UMC in previous years. Share your experience by completing her survey at https://pitt.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eFKDYYM5jigy7dk.
