Dear Friend of NPQ,
We are living in challenging times.
I know many of you are learning to adjust and find ways to continue offering your services and programs as well as fundraise for your organizations amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. Which is why I am sharing an update that I hope you will find may bring some good news during these trying times.
We recently shared information about a funding opportunity provided by AARP. The AARP Purpose Prize award recognizes founders 50 and over of an eligible nonprofit organization by awarding $50,000 to five winners. To be eligible, you had to have founded your organization after 40 and be 50 or older at the time you apply. The cash award comes with a year of various support services from AARP to help broaden the scope of the organization’s work.
As a result of ongoing requests from potential applicants and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, AARP is extending the deadline for the award call for applications. Applications will be accepted until April 30, 2020. Please review their rules for other updates to the award timeline. To apply for the award visit www.aarp.org/apply
This is a very difficult and uncertain time for everyone and we appreciate, and thank you, for the work you do for communities and the most vulnerable across the country.
I hope that you and your families stay well.
Sincerely,
Ruth McCambridge
