Trump’s tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy increased our national debt by $2 trillion [[link removed]] ; they made the rich richer while hurting working and middle-class Americans.

Trump did nothing to help America’s working families during his presidency. 1,800 factories shuttered between 2016 and 2018. Trump lied to supporters [[link removed]] , saying that jobs would come back and left them in the cold. If allowed to return to the White House, we can expect the gap between the wealthy and everyone else to grow.

For working Americans to prosper, we must end tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy and embrace a vision of new economic patriotism. That means bringing unionized, well-paying manufacturing jobs back to the United States to communities left behind by globalization. It means incentivizing factory construction, investing in training opportunities and manufacturing process innovations, and pushing the federal government to use tax revenues to purchase items made in America. It means restoring our country to a manufacturing superpower, one that meets the needs of the 21st century.
