The Snohomish County 4-H Horse Program will be holding their annual tack sale on March 2, 2024, ?at the Evergreen State Fair Park. This is not a small-scale event; it is 33,000+ square feet of beautiful tack! The annual event benefits the Snohomish County 4-H Horse Program and has been happening since 1979. It is no small feat to put on a sale of this size. There are about 700 volunteer spots to make this one-day event happen. ?Volunteers help process the consigned items, price and tag each item, organize the variety of tack and help shoppers on the day of the sale. ?

Consigned items are from horse owners around the state, items that have been donated directly to the 4-H program and there are even two large consigners who bring in several thousand items to sell. ?There is no cost to consign or for unsold items. Items are returned to the consigner, or they can be donated to the 4-H Horse Program.?

How does all of this tack turn into support for the 4-H Horse Program? 18% of the price of the sold item benefits the program. ?The funds support the 4-H Horse Program events which include nine annual 4-H horse shows and the Equine Exhibit at the County and State Fair and they also provides funding for awards for a multitude of competitions and contest. ?This is vital to a program that focuses on youth development where members learn life skills such as leadership, public presentations, decision making and more while enjoying their involvement with their horse, club members and leaders. ?
