Dear friend, I recently visited Mercy Corps’ warehouse in Ukraine stocked with supplies ready to distribute to families who had no choice but to leave their homes, livelihoods, and belongings behind. The shelves in the warehouse are lined with boxes filled with kits that include hygiene, baby, kitchen, emergency shelter, and food items to meet the shelter, water and sanitation, and food security needs of people affected by the war. I saw how our Ukraine team continues to communicate with local organizations and community members to understand the most urgent needs and refine systems to quickly meet those needs even after two years of war. You are a critical part of helping people whose lives have been devastated by conflict and disaster in places like Ukraine. Will you make a gift today to help us reach our $40,000 February funding goal to help power our humanitarian response in 40+ countries?
The Mercy Corps team surveys the rows and rows of boxed supplies, a reminder of all of the families restarting their lives in the midst of this war.
Our response is flexible, designed to enable early action and provide rapid lifesaving humanitarian assistance at a moment’s notice. Our team continues to study potential hazards to responding quickly and is constantly creating new kits to meet people’s evolving needs. Cash assistance is another effective way we address shifting community needs. Families receive prepaid cards so they can purchase the items they need when they need them — whether that’s filling prescription medications, repairing their homes, or purchasing household supplies. Your support helps fuel our response in Ukraine and 40+ countries where families are grappling with crises. Give now to help us be ready at a moment’s notice and stay long after the headlines fade to help communities rebuild stronger. With gratitude, Yevhen Astrashenok Mercy Corps RRM Coordinator, Ukraine Response |
