Last month, the Racial Justice & Equity (RJE) team at HU organized a partner convening in Atlanta, GA, which saw the participation of various esteemed organizations. Partners from the Workers Center for Racial Justice, Village Micro Fund, Latino Community Fund Georgia, Far Southeast Family Strengthening Collaborative, DC Justice Lab, BYP100, ONE DC, and the John Mitchell, Jr. Program for History, Justice, and Race at George Mason University gathered for this three-day event. Throughout the convening, both staff and partners engaged in discussions regarding the future trajectory of our RJE initiatives. This event served as a crucial platform for laying the groundwork for partner involvement in shaping the program's strategic development process. Given the complexities surrounding funding in the realm of Racial Justice and Equity, it was truly inspiring to witness the dedication and commitment of so many organizations gathered in one space. Their collective efforts and determination in advocating for change and pursuing liberation were deeply motivating. We extend our sincere gratitude to all our partners for their invaluable contributions and insights during the convening and we eagerly anticipate continuing this journey together as we strive towards our shared goals.
