1) Who Should Trump Choose as His Veep?
Our latest poll of prominent conservative leaders and influencers asked who would be Trump’s best choice as Vice President. Remember, this pick takes on magnified importance because should Donald Trump win in November, he is not eligible to run for a third term, and so the Veep will be the front runner for the Republican presidential nominee in 2028. We asked for a first and and second choice and counted those who were ranked second as a half a vote. Here are the top ten ranked picks for the more than 100 respondents:

2) Mass Transit Is a Dying Industry
Among the many wasteful and inefficient programs that Biden throws billions of taxpayer dollars at are public transit subsidies in large metro areas. Despite the hype, high-speed rail, light rail, and buses have been on their way out since the middle of the last century.

That’s the conclusion of our ace transportation expert Wendell Cox, who has just examined the most recent data on transit ridership.

It’s a disaster.

The percentage of Americans who use transit has dwindled down from 12% in 1960 to 3% today. Over that time period, the American workforce has roughly doubled.

We’ve said it one-thousand times: Americans love their cars. In almost every city – with the possible exception of New York and San Francisco – the shortest distance between two locations is in a car. Telecommuting has also surpassed transit as a way to get to work.

Within five years, automated cars will be ubiquitous and cars will pull up in front of your house, apartment, or office, and whisk you away wherever you want to go.

The left hates all of this because cars symbolize mobility and freedom while mass transit is a form of transportation socialism.

3) Flat Taxes Are Booming
While we are waiting for a new non-income tax state, flat taxes have boomed in recent years.

According to the Tax Foundation:

In the 15 months from July 2021 to September 2022, five states enacted laws to transform their graduated-rate income taxes into single-rate tax structures: Arizona enacted flat tax legislation in July 2021, followed by Iowa in March 2022, Mississippi and Georgia in April 2022, and Idaho in September 2022.

4) How Democrats Are Rigging Election Process to Hold on to Power
Both parties gerrymander districts to secure more congressional and state legislative majorities, but of late, Democrats are turning this into a science. Even the New York Times admits it:

Locked out of power on the Supreme Court and still playing catch-up against Republicans in the federal judiciary, Democrats are hoping to gain a political advantage on a less visible but still important playing field: the state courts. After flipping the Arizona governor’s seat from Republican to Democratic last year, Gov. Katie Hobbs has appointed 15 judges to the state’s Superior Courts. In five years leading deeply red Kansas, the Democratic governor, Laura Kelly, has named two justices to the Court of Appeals and one to the State Supreme Court. Governors have the power to appoint judges in nearly every state. These responsibilities are set to take center stage in political campaigns this year, as the Democratic Governors Association begins a multimillion-dollar effort, called the Power to Appoint Fund, aimed at key governor’s races.

Sounds to us like a threat to democracy.

5) Snow White Has “Woke” Up
Walt Disney built one of the greatest entertainment empires in history with its trademark wholesome and family movies and cartoons.

He would be in agony today to see the Company floundering in wokeness of its own making.

Its last four high-profile movies lost over $1 billion between them. Marvel Studios, which is owned by Disney, has seen its box office receipts tank since it moved away from beloved, well-established heroes like Captain America to showcase side characters such as Ms. Marvel, a Muslim teen superhero, and She-Hulk Attorney at Law.

Disney’s remake of Snow White will be released next year, and its star says the original love story was “weird' and accused Prince Charming of having “literally stalked” Snow White. The new story will focus on “women being in roles of power.” And no dwarves.

We’ll take the original version of Snow White any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
