This is Trish Gunby, and I want to enlist your support for my friend ‘Fearless’ Joe Pereles, who is running to flip a GOP-held State Senate seat in Missouri.

Here’s why Joe’s election is so important: Missourians have been suffering under Republican control for the last 20 years. The GOP-dominated legislature has fought for some of the most extreme and unpopular policy in the entire nation, from a near total ban on abortions with no exceptions for rape or incest to repeated attempts to roll back EVERY single gun violence prevention and gun safety measure.

They are so extreme that they are relentlessly working to strip away our basic right to enact policy through ballot initiatives—attacking and undermining democracy itself.

Right now, the GOP majority in the Senate is showing all of us that they have nothing to offer—nothing but chaos and pointless bickering. I saw it during my time in the Legislature, but this year I know that we can turn things around—and that starts with doing everything we can to send Joe to the State Senate and replace Andrew Koenig, a member of the Chaos Caucus who is termed out!

I am no stranger to winning a tough campaign: in 2019, my Republican state representative quit her job in the middle of her term, leaving an open seat and a special election in my historically-Republican district. When I stepped up and ran, many people told me I was fighting a losing battle. But my team and I knew that we could win, so we raised the money and did the work necessary to flip that seat and hold it again one year later.

That’s how I know that Joe has what it takes to run a strong, principled campaign that will help put an end to the chaos and dysfunction that is hurting people and holding us all back.

Joe has what it takes to win and lead us with integrity and honor, and that’s why he has my wholehearted support.
