Friend —

As someone who cares about protecting our most vulnerable populations from COVID-19, you understand why the Green Party supports aggressive social distancing and shelter-in-place measures in the battle against this pandemic.

But in many states, those same life-saving measures have made it impossible for Green Party candidates to collect the petition signatures necessary to get on the ballot.

Our candidates may have to fight their way onto the ballot in court. Please give to the Green Party today so we have the resources necessary to support them. <[link removed]>Voters like you could be deprived of being able to choose a Green Party candidate on Election Day if our governors do not act fast to grant emergency ballot access relief to candidates who cannot collect petition signatures due to concern for public safety.

Your governor needs to hear from you so they know their constituents demand having real choices in this democracy. We are asking state governments to implement one of the following relief measures for this year:

- Granting automatic ballot access
- Dramatically lowering signature requirements
- Replacing petitioning with a reasonable filing fee

Use our action tool to email your governor now <[link removed]> — just type in your state and we'll have their email address and a message ready for you. And please share that action page to others who want to ensure voter choice survives COVID-19.

Our society is so woefully equipped to protect our friends and loved ones from this pandemic because decades of corporation-mandated austerity have strangled the public resources we rely on in this kind of crisis.

That is why it is more important than ever for Green candidates to compete and win this year — we must start governing for the good of our communities, not the corporations. And not just for this crisis, but the Climate Crisis, the economic crises and the crises of encroaching fascism and intersectional oppression.

Give to the Green Party today so our candidates can keep fighting until Election Day and beyond. <[link removed]>

And don't forget to email your governor and spread the word! <[link removed]>
