Hey John,

It's February and this is Tam's Takes!

What a massive start to the year! My team and I have jumped in
head first.

The Government handed over 4000 pages of documents that I asked
for on Launceston City Deal
( [link removed] ) projects - just
a bit of light reading there! I had amarket stall
( [link removed] )
in beautiful Deloraine earlier this month, and I'm going into
bat for Tassie projects like the Burnie Family Law Court
( [link removed] ) and a Jobs Hub
pilot ( [link removed] ) to
get more people into work.

MY QUESTION TO YOU:

Are you happy with Labor's proposed changes to the Stage 3 tax
cuts? Or do you see this as a 'broken promise'?

Background
Liberals plan/what we have now:
- People earning under $45,000 don't get a tax cut
- Everyone earning between $45,000 - $200,000 would be on the
same tax rate (30%)

Labor's proposed changes:
- All taxpayers earning between $45,000 - $135,000 will get an
additional $800 tax cut
- People earning between $135,00 - $190,000 will still get a tax
cut, but less of one (still at the 37% tax rate instead of 30%).

reply to this email with your thoughts! I’ll share some
particularly thoughtful responses (not just the ones I agree
with!) next time, along with what I think about them.

READY TO GRILL WOOLWORTHS & COLES

I've put my hand up to be on the Senate committee looking into
price gouging practices by major supermarkets.

Anyone who's been to the supermarket lately knows it costs an arm
and a leg to just afford the basics. The producers and customers
are feeling it at the hip pocket while the supermarkets continue
to pocket record profits. The major chains have some serious
questions to answer.

Take a look at this video for my thoughts:

What would you ask the supermarket big wigs if you had them in
front of you? R ( [email protected] )eply to this email
( [email protected] ) ( [email protected] )and
let me know.

We're back in Canberra next week, so wish Jacqui and I luck as we
take on the circus of Parliament House!

Until next time,

Tammy Tyrrell
