Earlier this year, Senators Richard Burr and Kelly Loeffler both received official briefings from Trump administration officials about the threat COVID-19 posed to public health and our economy in the weeks and months ahead.
Then they turned around and sold millions of dollars worth of stocks, while simultaneously downplaying the risk of COVID-19 to the public. This is blatant corruption and insider trading. They must resign.
Richard Burr and Kelly Loeffler put lives and livelihoods at risk by minimizing the threat of COVID-19, all while using their positions as public servants to enrich themselves.
At a time when their only concern should have been for their states and the people they represent, they were focused on protecting their own wealth.
