Cal’s opponent, Thom Tillis, is struggling just to stay above water. Cal’s ahead in the polls, so Washington GOP big-wigs like Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and their corporate buddies keep swooping in with big checks to try to save Tillis.

But winning this election won’t be a walk in the park. National outlets from The New York Times to Vox , say that this will be one of the most competitive, expensive, and hotly-contested races of 2020.
