Social Security and Medicare are fundamental promises of the American dream: that we can retire after decades of hard work. That our seniors and disabled people won’t struggle to afford groceries, housing, and medical care.

These programs work, folks. Social Security benefits are earned through decades of hard work and by paying your fair share into this program. These earned benefits play a vital role in reducing poverty in Nevada and across the United States.

Yet Extreme Republicans disparagingly refer to these earned benefits as “giveaways” and “handouts” and remain fully committed to slashing Social Security and Medicare – or in some cases – defunding them entirely.

This is unacceptable, and I’ll do whatever it takes to safeguard these vital programs on which so many Americans depend. Will you sign the petition below to help protect Social Security and Medicare?
