The month of February is recognized as Black History Month – a month to celebrate and uplift generations of Black Americans’ cultural, political, and economic contributions to our nation’s history.

As we take the time to celebrate this invaluable history, we’re also reminded of the work ahead of us to achieve racial justice and equity. I’m proud to have dedicated my career to working toward social justice, championing voting rights legislation, and tackling disparities in housing and education.

This month, I reaffirm my commitment to these values. As we see an outright assault on the progress we’ve made toward racial justice and equity, it’s crucial we continue this work.
