Folks, it's Jen O'Malley Dillon, Joe Biden's Campaign Manager. It was important to me that we were able to share with you a little bit more about our campaign's overall strategy moving forward.

A lot has changed, our world can feel unrecognizable at times, so I wanted to make sure you knew what to expect from us and where you fit in. I hope you'll read the memo in its entirety, and then consider taking action to help us implement our plan with a $5 contribution today »

Organizing and Mobilization

Our organizers and states teams across the country are working remotely and safely, but are all still doing their critical work as part of our staff.

We are beginning to create a general election-ready foundation of engagement across priority states who have upcoming primaries on the calendar. Here are some ways we're doing this:

Making sure voting in primaries is safe and helping educate voters on measures states are taking to increase vote by mail efforts. For example, our team has worked quickly to call into Wisconsin and talk to voters about their extended options to register online and request a mail-in-ballot. We will seek to grow our delegate lead through remaining primary contests -- and we will do it safely.

Deepen our relationship with current supporters and foster community-building. Our organizing teams will be able to reach out to supporters in key battleground states and build relationships now. These friendships and connections will not only help us connect during this difficult time, but it will also build a winning infrastructure in November.

Promoting our virtual events we are hosting online, and making sure to get the word out as much as possible. These events will allow our supporters to attend trainings, connect with each other, and facilitate access to the VP. Sign up to see our events and RSVP to attend one »

The Vice President's Schedule

We're in a unique position to lead right now, and the VP has the experience and temperament to lead with presidential-style leadership, something Americans are looking for now more than ever. He shares the concerns of families across the country on public safety, and we plan to make sure his empathy and compassion are visible and accessible to Americans during this time on multiple platforms.

We are also making sure that experts from the Obama-Biden Administration have a platform to help the American people right now. Former White House Ebola Response Coordinator, Ron Klain, made a video with our campaign to break down how we got here and where we can go from here. The video has over 4 million views and counting and you can watch it here »

We're also going to use this time to deepen our engagement on the issues and build awareness of our values and positions.

As we've said before, we are learning to adapt to a new digital world. What would have been a jam-packed event schedule, and lots of opportunities to meet the VP in your community, we are now filling with virtual town halls, live stream speeches, and other ways to meet the VP 1:1.

As you have probably seen in your inbox, the VP will also be doing call time to online donors, and this will allow him to reach out to people who are chipping in right now to learn what this campaign means to them and to thank them for powering us during this stressful time. Whether you have chipped in to this link before or not, click here or donate below and your donation could land you a call from the VP »

Funding our Strategy

The thing is, folks, it isn't easy for me to ask you for money today. There are so many deserving charities and small businesses in your community where your money makes a huge difference right now. And of course, your own needs and the needs of your family take precedence.

But we have to keep fundraising because we have to keep campaigning. And we have to keep campaigning because it's the only way we can defeat Trump in November. And we need to make sure that if another global crisis comes to our doorstep we have a capable leader -- we have Joe Biden. We owe that to our children and grandchildren.

With no options for in-person fundraising, our online fundraising is the sole fuel of this campaign. But it's always been the bulk of our fundraising anyway.

In October, when fundraising in a crowded field was difficult, we were able to harness the power of grassroots fundraising when Trump came after our campaign with comments and actions that led to his impeachment. This team rallied around our campaign, and we were able to keep the lights on and keep going even through the hardest times. We made it to South Carolina where our luck turned around, and we made it thanks to you.

And then in March, with the help of our friends Amy Klobuchar, Pete Buttigieg, Beto O'Rourke, Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, Andrew Yang, John Delaney, Mike Bloomberg, and more -- hundreds of thousands of new people joined our team subscribing to emails, donating, and following along. If that's you -- welcome!

So I have no doubt online donors can get us through this and keep us thriving as we prepare to take the fight to Donald Trump. And if you can donate $5 today, I promise we can put it to good use with all of the things I outlined above:

Everything we do today, every decision we make and donation we put to use, is made with the idea that we are building out a long-term strategy that best positions us to take on Trump, and win.

As always, thank you. And much, much more to come!
