I have always said we need to rein in wasteful spending and focus on what’s taking place here at home, not abroad. That’s why I recently introduced the Protecting Life in Foreign Assistance Act with my good friend, Sen. Mike Lee. 

Friend, NO taxpayer dollars should be used to send money overseas so foreigners can have abortions. This bill is a step toward reining in foreign spending while also protecting life.

Originally, in 1984, President Ronald Reagan introduced the Mexico City Policy, prohibiting foreign assistance for organizations that provide or promote abortions or advocate changing abortion laws in other nations.

Over the years, that policy has been rescinded and reinstated, depending on who is sitting in the White House.

Of course, as soon as Joe Biden took office, he gave the green light to send taxpayer funds to nonprofits, NGOs, and multilateral organizations (both domestic and foreign), so YOUR money was used to fund abortions in other countries.

Friend, American citizens may be complicit in overseas abortions under the guise of “foreign assistance,” without even knowing their hard-earned money is being used to end innocent lives.
