Dear John,
How are you doing? I’m hoping you are safe during this uncertain time.
As you may know, school closings across the country have cut off the food lifeline for millions of kids living with hunger. We’ve pledged $5 million to make emergency grants to hard-hit areas and to keep up with the flood of requests coming in from local communities.
Please, if you can, donate today and our leading partner Citi will match your kind donation, up to a total of $2 million. Any amount you can spare will make a difference.
Thanks to support from our generous friends, we have already made more than $2 million in emergency grants. Here are just three of the ways those grants—and people like you—are making a difference:
- In San Francisco, donations are helping the school district purchase equipment for 18 sites where they are distributing meals to kids in need.
- In Massachusetts, local partner Project Bread is using grant funds to coordinate free meal sites and expand the Food Source Hotline, which connects families in need with food banks, pantries and sites across the state.
- Washington, DC’s Bread for the City is using grant funds to purchase food and supplies for low-income clients and their children, including baby and infant food packets.
Every dollar counts as we work to meet this unprecedented challenge.
Your support will mean the world as we continue to do everything we can to make sure no child misses a meal.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness and compassion during this moment in all of our lives.
