Everyone who wants to vote should have the right to vote!
John,
Since the 2020 election, the Voting Rights Act has been under attack. You see, there are some (we’re looking at you, Republican Party) that think elections only count when they win. That’s not how democracy works.
Passed in 1965, the Voting Rights Act ensures that no federal, state, or local government can, in any way, impede people from voting because of their race. However, Republicans are not just trying to weaken the Act – they want to overturn it.
At Food & Water Action, we help people build their political power and hold elected officials accountable. We fight against systems that keep people from voting. This year’s election presents our biggest opportunity yet to create a positive impact on our democracy and the health of our planet.
Electing climate champions will be critical in creating the change we need to see in the world — change that protects our food, water, and climate.
Food & Water Action and its affiliated organization, Food & Water Watch, are advocacy groups with a common mission to protect our food, water and climate.
