Our election is moving to mostly vote-by-mail
Our election is moving to mostly vote-by-mail, and Republicans refuse to include prepaid postage for voters to request ballots or mail them in:
This is nothing short of a modern-day poll tax. And it disenfranchises people in our diverse district.
We cannot let Republicans get away with this. Poll taxes infringe on our constitutional right to vote -- and this is just the most recent attempt in a long pattern of Georgia Republicans trying to rig elections in their favor by restricting who can vote.
We’re strategizing about how to move forward -- whether it’s suing Governor Kemp for voter suppression, sending stamps directly to voters ourselves, or another tactic to stop this poll tax.
However we decide to proceed, we can’t afford to fall short on our end-of-quarter goal -- we have to make sure we gather the resources to fight on. Will you chip in to help us fight this poll tax?
We won’t let this continue.
