Dear Friend,

I am writing to provide the latest update on how I'm defending our constitutional rights and supporting common sense conservative policies in Washington.

PASSED H. Res. 966 - Condemning Rape and Sexual Violence Committed by Hamas in its war Against Israel

Hamas committed horrific crimes against humanity on October 7th when they invaded Israel, murdered more than 1,200 innocent people, and took more than 240 hostages including babies and children. Following the attacks, reports of mass rape and sexual violence against women emerged with countless photographic and forensic evidence supporting these reports.

This past week, I was a proud cosponsor of a resolution condemning Hamas for its crimes. I was pleased to see the House almost unanimously passed this resolution even though one House Democrat refused to condemn Hamas for raping innocent civilians.

PASSED H.R. 7176 - The Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act

Energy is central to our livelihoods and our economy.

From fueling our cars to powering our homes, Americans depend on access to affordable and reliable energy. Under the current administration, the American people have seen their gas and utility costs increase due to burdensome energy regulations and skyrocketing inflation.

H.R. 7176 reverses the Biden Administration's war on American energy by repealing much of the burdensome red tape on liquified natural gas and lifting restrictions on imports and exports on American natural gas.

With the cost of energy still obscenely high, we must promote American energy independence; not restrict it.

Frederick Douglass Congressional Gold Medal Act

ImageDouglass in 1879

Maryland's Eastern Shore was the birthplace of abolitionist and statesman Frederick Douglass. Frederick Douglass dedicated his life to abolishing the evil institution of slavery, furthering the cause of freedom, and upholding the principles embodied within our Constitution.

This past week, I was happy to join my colleague Rep. Glenn Ivey (D-MD-04) in introducing a bipartisan resolution awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to honor the life and legacy of Frederick Douglass.

Our nation is better because of Frederick Douglass' contributions to freedom and his life deserves to be honored.

The Gold Medal Congressional Act can be read here.

Addressing Special Counsel Hur Report and Biden's Mental Fitness

Image

As you may know, Special Counsel Robert Hur, who was assigned by the Department of Justice to investigate alleged mishandling of classified documents at President Biden's home in Delaware, released his report. Despite Hur's investigation finding evidence that President Biden "willfully retained and disclosed classified materials," Hur refused to charge Biden because he was a "sympathetic, well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory."

I joined former White House Doctor and current Congressman, Ronny Jackson in writing a letter to President Biden expressing our concerns about his cognitive state and ability to serve another term as President. The American people can no longer be left in the dark about the mental fitness of our Commander in Chief. These are serious and dangerous times: chaos at the southern border, inflation at record highs, and now multiple global conflicts impacting American citizens and interests. There is a simple solution to the Biden Administration’s problem: administer a cognitive exam for the President.

Impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas

Image

Last week, the House successfully voted to impeach the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas. I voted in favor of impeaching Secretary Mayorkas for his failure to protect our country from an invasion and for lying to Congress about the current state of our Southern Border.

Secretary Mayorkas does not have the faith of the American people and he has jeopardized our national security. I voted to remove him from office.
