We write to thank you for your role in protecting asylum. For months,
we've been asking you to reach out to your congressional representatives to tell them to block anti-immigrant measures that would endanger children and families seeking safety.
In case you missed it last week, the Senate was able to pass a foreign aid package by a 70-29 vote. Critically, your vocal efforts helped to ensure devastating anti-immigrant provisions—known as the “border supplemental”—were NOT included. The package now heads to the House, and we will continue to practice vigilance about the inclusion of dangerous proposals.
You should know that this could not have been possible without you. The consistent outpouring of calls, emails, in-person and virtual outcry over the border supplemental shows that we'll do whatever it takes to block harmful policies that hurt families and children and use our communities as political pawns.
