Dear VCC Community,

As I was sitting in silence this morning I struggled to still my mind. The challenges of life was flooding me with thoughts of how confused life has become. Virtually all of the institutions and organizations that had served as guides, sources of information, protection and wisdom seem to have been captured by an agenda that is not about serving the truth or God.

The words of Rudyard Kipling came to mind -
If you can keep your head when all about you   
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,   
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;   

If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

We are experiencing a very challenging time in the history of humanity. We are being tested daily to declare where we stand and what we stand for. As challenging as this is, I also find this a very exciting time. When else have we been called to serve humanity in such a grand way. Have no doubt that our purpose at this time is significant. Stand tall. Shine your light. Embrace this time.

Dear VCC Community,

We will be ending our Tuesday and Thursday evening open discussions after this week. There are many demands for our time and energy and the Board of Directors of VCC has decided that there are other places where our time can have a greater impact. Two areas where we want to invest our resources more fully is the dissemination of our new book – A New Parents Guide to Understanding Vaccination and developing our Raising Nature’s Child initiative. Thank you to all those who participated and hosted our Tuesday and Thursday open discussions. We invite you to hold open discussions in your own community, preferably face to face. Should the need present itself, we will once again hold open discussion evenings.

Join us for our last Open Discussion this week to catch up with each other and share stories of action and encouragement. 

Another powerful tool to increase your experience of peace and joy is trust. I discovered that there is an inverse relationship between fear and trust. Whenever I experience high fear I notice my trust is low. As I increase my trust, the fear diminishes. This tool is about reducing fear by increasing trust.

Now that I understand the relationship between fear and trust I intentionally build my trust. One way I do this is by reminding myself of the things I trust each morning as I start my day. While dressing, I read my list and commit to trusting myself and trusting a higher power. The following are examples of affirmations I use:

• I trust whatever happens to me today is for my highest good.
• I trust I will find a solution.
• I am creative and adaptable.
• I am becoming more alive, more aware, and more awakened.
• There is value in all experiences.
• There are gifts in darkness.
• I am a spiritual being having a human experience.

There is no doubt that our trust has taken a battering over these last four years. It’s important that we not completely abandon trust for then the world becomes unmanageable. In difficult situations I’ve learned to ask, “What can I trust in this moment?” There is always something we can trust.

I invite you to pay attention to the relationship between fear and trust. The global agenda is to keep us in fear.
