*Kitsap County Approaches Public Hearings on Preferred Alternative for Comprehensive Plan Update*

As the 2024 Kitsap County Comprehensive Plan update progresses, we encourage you to be part of the process. You still have time to provide comments and join us for public hearings on the preferred alternatives for urban growth areas, rural and urban land use maps, and major policies.  Here are a few dates to save:


* *Thursday, Feb. 22, 6:00 p.m.: *Staff will host an in-person public open house on the draft plan documents at the _Kitsap County Administration Building_ [ [link removed] ] in Port Orchard*.* At this meeting, you can engage directly with staff regarding plan policies, maps, development regulations, and other points of interest.
* *Tuesday, Mar. 5 at 5:30 p.m.: *The Planning Commission will host a public hearing at the _Kitsap County Administration Building [ [link removed] ]_ and virtually via Zoom. This hybrid hearing allows for testimony from both in-person attendees and online participants via Zoom.
* *Monday, Apr. 8 at 5:30 p.m.:* The Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the plan at the Kitsap County Administration Building [ [link removed] ]. Testimony will be accepted in-person and via Zoom.

*"Written public comments are appreciated. "*"Submissions on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement will be accepted through *Monday, Feb. 26 at 4:30 p.m.* The comment period for other draft documents, including the Comprehensive Plan, Capital Facilities Plan, and Development Regulations will remain open through *Monday, Apr. 8*.
