Hi John,
Black History Month is a moment to reflect on the endless journey of our country toward becoming a more perfect union. “All men are created equal” was, from the beginning, a promise to ourselves that we would get better and expand the circle of belonging. 2024 has to be about continuing that great American story of reaching toward fulfilling that promise.
Not everyone shares that goal. Today, which also happens to be the 40th birthday of Trevor Noah, we wanted to share a meaningful quote from his book, Born a Crime:
“The genius of apartheid was convincing people who were the overwhelming majority to turn on each other. You separate people into groups and make them hate one another so you can run them all.”
In America, we’re not dealing with apartheid, but we are all too familiar with politicians who seek to rule based on dividing us. People like Donald Trump and David Schweikert don’t offer solutions but prey on people’s anxieties and fears by pointing the finger of blame and playing politics.
Andrei’s running a very different campaign — a campaign of ideas and hope. And a campaign that is literally meeting people where they are — engaging with voters one-on-one at their doors.
As Andrei always says, “Stay off the sidewalks and walk straight up to the doors.” That’s how we win this race.
Andrei’s campaign has always been about meeting people where they are, and keeping this up will ensure we win. John, can we count on you to chip in to help us grow our volunteer efforts and have people walking straight up to the doors across AZ-01? [[link removed]]
