I hope you had a restful holiday weekend. Millions of Americans are back at work today after enjoying an extra day off – but not Congress.
Last week, Speaker Johnson adjourned the House for a two-week vacation despite having no budget deal in place. They’re set to return to work just two days before the next deadline to avoid a government shutdown.
It’s no surprise that Nick LaLota is on a break instead of trying to solve this problem. Afterall, even George Santos (yes, THE George Santos) called Nick out for not showing up to his old job at the Board of Elections.

The Republican majority has kept the House in chaos for months. If they fail to reach a budget deal in time, we all will pay the price with delays to critical services.
Our nation deserves better than this from the House – and our district deserves better than Nick LaLota.
